UniFlow "Resources" Page Research and Design
This product by UniFlow was for their club platform. The screen was an additional resource for club leaders.
Challenge
In the early summer of 2020 (a little after the start of the pandemic) university clubs had to halt all in-person activities at many schools. I was tasked to help ease the transition for club leaders to online club meetings and events. We were going to add another page to the college engagement platform that would be club leader-facing and could be viewed when in the planning stages of the meeting.

Research Protocol
A big portion was dedicated to research. We needed to know what club leaders would find useful in a resource page as well as their fears for the upcoming semester being online.

Interviews
Wireframes

I chatted with several club leaders at different universities. Those who were in Greek life had concerns about recruitment. Everyone seemed to be very worried about keeping people engaged online and feared that their membership would decrease. We discovered that different clubs preferred to use different platforms for video conferencing and presentations depending on what their university had partnerships with and what they preferred. This meant we had incorporate a wide range of resources for each platform.

At the time, video conferencing platforms were very new to most many people. We thought it would be a good idea to provide information that might be relevant for a club leader on each platform such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc. Through our research we found that all of our sampled club leaders with used Microsoft Power point or Google Slides so I knew we only had to include two options for that.

Mockups
I first started with the creation of the mockup based on my wireframe. I had around 7 iterations of the first mockup and eventually we went with one that was slightly rearranged.

The branding was consistent with the other pages in the website and throughout each iteration of the "Resource" page.

I thought it was important to include the users in the process even after the launch of the product so I advocated for a "resource suggestions" box where club leaders could suggest a resource that they want to share with others. then that resources would pop up in the list. There is also a feature to upvote and downvote different resources. We would ideally take off the ones with the fewest votes and replace them with other suggestions ever so often.
